1KOMMA5° OS is B2b Order Management tool for planning and executing installations and service visits. It is with over 3000 users in Germany and European branches of 1KOMMA5°. As a central place for all the operations OS has the importance for the business to reflect up to date data for all the installations and help Order manager run their workflows smoothly.

Business Challange

Efficient Order Fullfillment

with OS

Data quality

Data quality

1KOMMA5° had a big business intelligence gap in knowing how the Orders were steered by their branches across Germany. Business lacked essential layer optimising processes in operations.

Cost efficeny

Cost efficeny

Uncertain processes led to the problem of not making sure business runs in most efficent way or how processes can be optimised

Problem context

Efficient Order Fullfillment

with OS

Conducting and shadowing Order Fullfillment teams, brought the perspective why current tooling solutions made it difficult for Order managers. Operations teams needed a reliable way to track orders, production status, inventory, and dispatch activities in one place.

The existing workflow lacked visibility across departments, leading to delays, duplicate work, and inconsistent reporting

The existing workflows weren't built for operational businesses changing needs, leading to multiple disconnected tools, manual reconciliation, and zero real-time reporting.

Problem context

High manual effort

Tool was extra work and had flat interface expecting user to update data, rather then reducing their work load and cognitive load

Does not support operational flexibility

Delivering hardware to customer and building requires flexibility and adjustment on timelines

No focus on what matters

Information density with the 60+ orders per day that come in. Zero at-a-glance state, with no progress indicators.

Solution 1: Live Dashboard

Efficient Order Fullfillment

with OS

The solution focused on simplifying operational planning by bringing fragmented workflows into a single, structured interface.

The platform was designed to reduce manual coordination, improve visibility across teams, and help users quickly identify priorities without switching between systems.

We needed to emphasize clarity, hierarchy, and fast scanning so operational teams can manage large volumes of information with less cognitive load and fewer errors.

Daily production & productive tracking

A daily actionable report

Installation Dispatch monitoring

Transforms daily listings into relevant workstreams in just a few clicks

Daily Control Dashboard

A live operational dashboard designed to help teams monitor production status, inventory movement, and order progress throughout the day

At core solving essential information and guidance level for the user,

  • Daily production tracking

  • Inventory and dispatch monitoring

  • Operational status visibility

Solution 2: Order overviews

Efficient Order Fullfillment

with OS

The solution was motivated by building workflows around existing human behaviors, not the other way around. This kind of work meant building blocks, not features — a system flexible enough to scale.

The infrastructure: clarity, hierarchy, and contextual awareness as foundational tools to help users build trust and confidence in an environment that demanded both speed and exactness.

Prioritized information hierarchy

Intuitive interface and smart labels to speed orientation in all its dimensions.

Efficiency-driven interactions

Maintain clear labels and a structured summary in all its dimensions.

Order Views

A focused, intentionally structured Order View for busy operations needs for a variety of Order View structures efficient for all tasks.

Designed and introduced modules that elevated Order managers out of the feeling of their most important tool falling short for them.

Powered, intentionally structured Order Views for orders needs for a variety of data structures efficient for all tasks. One focused interface. Multiple supply fit.

Solution 3: Configurable overviews

Efficient Order Fullfillment

with OS

As part of solution we defined that making Views and Dashboard configurable for business scalability and independence from engineering effort bring big next impact.

Impact &

Look back

01

Lower operational overhead

Operations teams cut manual coordination time by roughly 40%, with fewer tools open and more decisions made in one place.

02

Improved visibility

Teams now have an at-a-glance picture of day-level production, fulfillment, and dispatch without a single spreadsheet open.

03

Scalable operations

Products built can be adapted for operational environments that are different enough that previously they'd have required a full custom build.
